I’d like to work with you. What do I do next?

Can we talk? Seriously, that is the best way for both of us to make the decision on working together. We will discuss what it is that you need relief with in your business, what your challenges might be, where you want to take your business, and how we can go about making that happen.

A major component will be our ability to communicate with each other. The more open and straightforward we can be about the work, our expectations, and who we are we can be, the clearer the decision will be for both of us.

How do I start working with you?

Once we’ve both made the decision that we should work together, we’ll put together a “To-Do” list and prioritize it, and we’ll start from there. If you don’t have a “To-Do” list, think about it for a week. While you’re working in your business, think about if “YOU” have to be the one doing everything you’re working on. Quite often the answer will be no. That list will become the basis for our “To-Do” list even if you don’t delegate all of it right away.

How will you make my life easier?

By working together, we’ll be able to create some space and balance in your life. The more we put on the “To-Do” list, the more that is moved from your plate to mine, the more space you will have. We’ll get systems and procedures in place so that you can rest assured that things are getting taken care of without having to do it all yourself.

How will we communicate?

Communication will be the key to our virtual relationship. I’ve found that it works best to have regularly scheduled phone meetings, so that we can touch base and plan for upcoming projects. Then, if you’d like to discuss work at other times, we can do that too! After that, email is an efficient way to communicate; we’ll have a written record of what we’re working on, along with the answers to any questions either of us had.

What is your work style?

I am very laid back and love to laugh. I don’t do drama. Or micromanaging. I’m not always available on short notice – while I do understand that things come up, it’s always best to make sure we’re planning ahead as much as we can.

What are you like to work with?

I work hard to do the best possible job for my clients. I also feel that it is important to have fun while I’m working. I have a great sense of humor and enjoy using it often, as I hope all of my clients do too. I am pretty laid back in my dealings with people – I save the intensity for doing the job right. I value honesty, integrity, and loyalty – I value them in myself and in others and try to live my life by these values.

When are you available?

I’m generally in my office from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Pacific Time, Monday through Thursday and until noon on Friday, but I’m not always available during that time. Since I’m working with many clients, I may need to be focused on their projects for a while, just as I may need to be focused on yours. I do not offer instant turn around on projects – it’s not fair to everyone else. If we have something coming up that we know will be on a tight time frame, let’s make sure we discuss it at our meeting so that we have the plan and the time in place for it.

Can you help me with social media?

Of course! We can discuss what your goals for social media are and then we can create a plan to implement them. While I can take care of quite a bit of this for you, you will have to participate as well. Tweet on!

What type of relationship would we have?

My expectation is that I will work with my clients for years! The longer we work together, the more I learn about your business. The more I know your business, the greater value I can bring to it! We will be equals, working together for the success of your business; when you succeed, so do I!
